What do you think?

"cool" install, I will be installing a vintage air in a 64 barracuda very soon. Are YOU pleased with the install?
by the way pics are reversed, unless the car is right hand drive LOL

edit: Is the car right hand drive? the air cleaner and battery location should be correct for non-reversed pictures. Cool install either way.

Thank you for sharing this great install  I saved a couple pictures .
:happy2:

Looks good and very tidy. I can't tell from the pics, is there another vent by the driver's door? Let us know how well it works.

It looks great (Except for the steering wheel being on the wrong side :) ) So how does it cool?

Do you have the same R-12 restrictions as the US and using R-134?

In the states that would be a postal route vehicle!!

Looks great. You guys "over there" must be at an incredible disadvantage in getting parts, I'd guess.

Great to see your nice vert again. Is that an after-market compressor bracket, like from Vintage Air, or did you make it yourself? Part of it looks like the "York to Sanden" adapter that can be found on ebay. Looks like you also have a later alternator, like from an 80's Mopar truck.

I have never seen a distributor rotor like yours, though it says "Made in U.S.A.". I wouldn't put much money into that distributor since down the road you would be better changing to electronic ignition. I put an HEI system in my slant six and will post the details after I get it running again and verify the wiring, maybe a month. Cost ~$70 w/ new distributor and junkyard HEI parts.

isnt that the truth, i seem to remeber Bill over at RMS building a Rt hand drive Alter K. wonder what ever happened with that.

The bracket is locally fabricated (not a kit) and looks like this:

Thats the old Solex carb, I now have the correct Holley 1920.

This is the distributor you need

I am assuming you had to take out the original heater for this ?

It appears that it was a heater delete as Malaysia (and all SE Asia is warm weather only). I see no heater blower motor (which would be found on the left firewall as well as no heater controls on the dash.

The vents did turn out nice in your car. I bet you can't wait to get it back running so you can try it out.

Why does he have defrost vents then ?

Let me rephrase :

Does this fits in the place of were the original heater would be ?

Does this system have an heat option ?

I would have no idea as the car never came with a heater.

2nd ques: same, no idea. This is a total DIY installation I.e. Not a kit... I don't even know how a heater works LOL

Perhaps there is a small blower motor under the dash to blow cabin air (like our rear air defrosters)? I'm sure Syed can solve the mystery.

The car came originally with the two side cold air box near the driver and passenger footwell which I removed and blank off the holes to have a better seal in the cabin for A/C. But no blower under or behind the dash.
