Man those Apache's are nasty

Geez the rounds were destroying them, then they ran out and sent the missles in and it was good night after that.Any one know what heads were on those exploding rounds?

The taliban is just a bunch of thugs in rugs.hiding behind women and children.

Always good seeing our troops come out on top.

Makes me proud ....... and for all of those PITA people please note that they spared all of the donkeys...

Those rounds are 30mm high explosive incindiary rounds.
They are 1.17 inches round and the entire shell is about 4 inches long.
The missles are Hellfires.

Kinda puts a damper on thier AK's

Some of the best gun camera video I have ever seen. Serves the cowardly scum bags right. USA USA USA!!!!

(1) Hellfire missile costs around $68,000 each. Seems like an awfully expensive way to kill people one at a time. No wonder we're spending $$$Billions a month, that we don't have.

How much is the life of our troops they were about to ambush worth?I believe the guy that kept saying "sparkle" was on the ground and they needed air support.,either way it would have cost that much to jail and put him on trail so bombs away.

Frigging right...yes, the weapons systems are expensive, but if it were my son or daughter that was walking into an ambush, I would want that pilot to use whatever means possible to protect them, whether it's $68K or $68 Million.

hey rednesss,my step son just got back after 18 months,he told me some times you dont know who is friend or foe,so when they know they kill them or be killed.kind of shitty to say what you did,but we can give money to people not to work and thats ok?mark

The Hellfires were used because he ran out of ammo for the 30's and was backing the other Apache that was being targeted.
The pilot said to the other Apache "He's setting up on your position" and blasted him.

Thats what I heard in the chatter.

Besides, they make up for the "one shot, one kill" error on this one.

It's bad enough to have to place a value on the human life of a soldier, but what about the cost we have invested in training these guys, and these aircraft? Some of those nutcases are tryin' to kill aircraft, to ya know

I don't think General LeMay was was all that worried about the cost of weapons and equipment when he bombed, firebombed, and atom bombed, the livin' crap out of Japan, do you?

It's called war. Live, die, win, lose.

And some of the billions we are spending is being spent on civilian contractors, who are getting rich off this thing. In WWII, just about everything was bein' done by DRAFTED soldiers, who we didn't have to pay all that much to "hire."

I would love to see Haliburton get shafted if it meant a lot more missles and ammo could be bought.

I get a certain amount of enjoyment from watching the American war machine at work.

I'm pro war but I dont think 90+% of the people were fighting in Afghanistan are Al Qaeda at this point. Lost sight of our goal....which is/was revenge against Al Qaeda.

A lot of the people we are fighting in Afghanistan now have no affiliation with Al Qaeda. Many of them are Afghani citizens sick of foreighners occupying their territory........I dont blame them either......if the roles were reversed......I would fight for my state and country against what ever occupying nation happened to be here.

Our government is doing a dis-service to our men and women in uniform by not declaring clear and finite goals.
