cool story behind this whole build. my dad was a big hot rodder when he was my age had an impala (which he wrecked leaving my moms parents house mad)then a late 60's roadrunner 383. well he sold the toys when they started having kids but still dabbled in the hotrod world.
he came across a trashed demon 340 so he bought it and tore out the engine and scrapped the car. He had the 340 "rebuilt" and bored out not sure what else, then it sat on an engine stand for as long as I can remember as well as a ford 9 3/8 rear end and the scoop
wouldnt you know it I got the hotrodder gene and took it upon myself to get in as much trouble as I possibly could behind the wheel..... anyway I went to college for High Performance Auto and took the 340up with me to freshen it up. Only to find out several things the caps dont match the rods, the one had been cut and never honed so it was squeezing the crank to tight( yes it was turned over by hand that way OUCH) the bore is good and the pistons are ok but now I am on the look out for a forged crank, rods, an intake mani for a 340/360(has a junk 318 edlbrock intake now) and a bumpstick/ lifters cause it has surface rust from sitting.
