what gauge sheet metal?

I threw a sheet gauge on my '72 Dart's front fender last week before starting the shave job on the side markers and measured around 18ga. For what it's worth, I made my patch panels from 20ga and they seem alright.

Not sure if that info will help ya, but I figured I'd post it just in case.
