Right , with the air gap just clears the hood using the stock 1970 340 air cleaner (on my car ) , make sure to measure clearance , don't want a stud nipple on the hood . Did that on my first Dart with a 4" deep edelbrock air cleaner , base had no drop like factory unit , ouch
