Success! and a problem

Hi Guys,

I decided to change the extension housing bushing in my Dart Sport to try to help with a vibration that I am having. Being somewhat on the lazy side, I did not want to pull the extension housing off the transmission, I wanted to do it with it in the car. I looked online and they make a tool to do this, but man it was expensive. Luckily I am the engineering manager where I work, and I have access to all the machine shop equipment and the EDM machine.

So I made this, and it worked perfectly!

Now onto the problem. While I was doing this I notice the transmission mount in the crossmember was in rough shape, so I replaced it. When removing it I noticed one of the bolts that attach the mount to the transmission was loose, and the other one was about halfway out. The one that was halfway out, the threads in the hole were stripped almost all the way. I was able to get a longer bolt and get it to hold, but I don't think it's gonna last. Is it possible to put a helicoil in this location and it hold? I can't put a nut on the backside because the bolt goes right up the side of the housing.

Good news is it looks like the vibration is gone!
