Some stuff don't work in my Dart
If you are going to diagnose electrical problems these items are needed to be successful: wiring diagrams for your car; volt ohm meter (VOM), and test light.
All automobile electrical devices work the same by current flowing from battery through device, and then to ground. One has to determine if current is being supplied to device (blown fuse, cut wire etc.), device is nonfunctional (burnt bulb etc.), or circuit not making good connection to ground (sheet metal of car). Some items such as dome lights are directly feed, and the switch is located on the ground side of circuit. Others such as a radio have a switch located on feed side (hot) before radio circuitry than current goes to ground. One will have to consult a wire diagram to understand how each circuit is designed to be able to test it.
