Not my first rodeo.... I guess besides the obvious cost of a total restoration the big question is do I really want an original car, or would I enjoy a clone that I build with the drive train that I can enjoy. Played the matching numbers game with Corvettes....not much fun actually as once you get the car finished you can't really drive it because of the fear of ruining the intrinsic value of an original car. Either way unless you are in the business of flipping cars one does not spend the time, effort, frustration and disappointment one faces in this car hobby except for love of the car. Thanks for your replies. Spook

And just think all this started when I sold my Viper with hopes of buying an A12 car or a hemi dart clone.... What a crooked road it has become. Spook.

That is where I am.
Build it because you love it and don't worry about the cost. That is where I am on my rag top. For me even though I am a purist I have learned my lesson and will buy a car that is already done and done correctly. I don't care if it is just a small block as long as it looks good and is good. I have had my go fast days where I could pass everything but the gas station and have no interest in doing that anymore.
