What would you do?

This is a little fairytale.

Once upon a time, there was this kid that was a major problem with the rest of the family. He was on drugs, stole from the family, endangered their lives and other problems were created by him. Nobody knew what to do about him. Then somebody got a bright idea. Why don't I hire one of the local lowlifes, (from another part of town), to beat his *** so bad that he knows it could be the end. The lowlife was instructed to beat the crap out of him but not to kill him. At the end of the beating the lowlife was instructed to tell the kid to stay away from the family and to make sure none of his scumbag friends bothered the family either. If the family was bothered again the lowlife would return and finish the job.
The family was never bothered again, the lowlife made a decent buck and the grandmother never new the difference.
