torque boxes
do all 70 340 dusters have the factory torque boxes ?
Frame boxes or torque boxes as most people refer to them is the area of the floor pan where the leaf springs are bolted to the unibody at the front. if you were going to remove the front nuts of your leaf springs you would have to go through an opening in the "box" to remove those nuts. All convertibles from around 1962 and hemi cars should have them. I say should because I have seen One or two without in my travels. Here is the ones that should have them, a body wise. Most 1969 to 72 340 4 speed a bodies should have them, auto's will not.
1962 or 1963 to 69 any convertible any engine size.
67 383 a body will/should have them
68 383 will/ should have them
69 383/440 will/should have them
No need to do B bodies or e bodies here.
Now the disclaimer: Some cars that should have them, didn't get them and vice verse.
I put 72's in this list because my 1972 340 4 speed duster has them but auto cars, such as Dmoore's survivor 72 Duster 340 does not.
