66 Dart Owners thread

Finally put the top down today.

Nice drop top. Looks like RR1 paint code. That's a cool color and not too many around. tmm

The procedure is about the same but the exhaust conversion is a bit more involved because of the exhaust port size difference between the 273 and the 360 heads. You either have to install some custom headers or use 273/318 heads and the stock manifolds unless you're willing to cut the inner fenders. If you have manual steering, you can also use the '68-70 340 manifolds with some minor mods. The engine mounts, torque converter, and oil pan are the only other significant differences between the 360 and the 273 when it comes to installation. There are some other minor things like the crank hole diameter for the converter button and the ignition timing marks but those are easily overcome.

Good info cudamark. There's so much I don't know about early A's. tmm

I will try to get some more pictures up soon, I'm new to the site and the help already has been appreciated.

Thats one clean 270 66Dart! You left coast guys are lucky. I think I should travel west and find a nice one to drive home. LOL tmm
