Borgeson Steering Box

The U-joint couplers and their lack of provision for body flex has always bothered me.

The 14:1 offered by the Borgeson isn't that great, since factory was only 16:1. I doubt that you'd even notice the difference unless you're autocrossing it and then it'd have to be a pretty tight track. Really, the manual steering cars (well, the bulk of them) were 32:1. Is a 13% difference worth that kind of coin?

Between shimming the pump and your choice of Firm Feel boxes (which I have and will always highly endorse), you're getting nearly the same ratio for half the price and you can tailor it perfectly to your driving needs (Why pay the core fee? Go digging in your couch cushions and you'll probably find a Mopar steering box in there that you can send in). Buy a new column at $150 and you're up a couple hundred, regardless.

It's not explicitly stated on the website, but I believe that Firm Feel has 16:1 manual boxes available, too. Either way, 16:1 versus 14:1 is not much of a difference to the average driver.
