''I'm going to fix it up someday'' The resurrection of a '74 Dart Sport......

Trunk floor time!
The original was rusty where the mounting bracket for the gas tank was, as well as the drain hole in the back was rotted out, so i salvaged a replacement out of one of my parts cars which was a rolled 'green 73 Dart Sport. When i cleaned it up, i found a couple of pin holes in the side under the factory undercoating that needed some repair as well as 4 holes drilled in the bottom that i filled.
I welded it in, ground down the welds, buffed out the surface rust and flakes of old surface rust and the factory paint which was rubbery and peeled off, (like seam sealer) and brushed on some Tremclad on the floors. When that dried, i painted it with some duplicolor KG8 green to match the exterior of the car. It has a textured look kinda like the original finish on the trunk floor.
From looking at the pictures, it looks like it's welded in crooked, but it's not.
I made several measurements of where the factory placement was, even the factory stamping wrinkles are in the same place....... so it must be an optical illusion, or maybe an optical confusion. Tropical delusion?
Whatever it is, the gas tank straps went on straight with the same amount of threads showing on both sides when installed and tightened up so it's good enough for me!
