slant 6 radiator on a 318
Probably not a good idea particularly using an automatic transmission, it probably won’t provide sufficient cooling at high ambient temperatures, and upper and lower hose connections won’t line up nicely with V8.
I have a beefed up slant connected to a 904 with output similar to a stock 318 cooled with a stock /6 radiator, and when ambient climes into the mid-eighties (we call this hot weather in Maine), the engine tends to runs hot out on the open road at cruise speeds. I now wish I had ordered a HD /6 radiator, or modified V8 radiator to keep up with excess heat generation compared to a stock slant.
I wasn’t thinking like a thermodynamics guy in terms of BTU generation per power output of engine at the time, but just counted the number of spark plugs, and clicked the mouse… if you get my drift. LOL
