Alternator Problems

Get a new regulator...OR..Get a square back and an electronic regulator, its just one more wire. (or a 1 wire alt, thats really a one wire mod!) The old points type regulators were just that, points opening and closing. Either the alt was full boogie or "off" back and forth but rapidly. Electronics vary the ground signal thus "regulating" the power output of the constantly energized (to varying degrees) alternator. Much safer too as a ground short (full on) on the old rounds could blow up a battery or melt a harness.
