318/360 industrial engine info
For one time in my life i found the ultimate place to disgrace the chevy boy's.........the world of airboatin, These guy's are all nice till ya say the word Dodge or Mopar, when they start speakin the first thing that comes to my mind is the word Lazy...I got Mopar runnin thru my blood but i'm not afraid to try a chevy or a ford when I can, so the first two obstacles in makin a dodge powered airboat for direct drive is mounting the prop and mounting the starter motor...and them ain't even anthill's in my world..so now i'm looking for someone that actually has an industrial 318 or 360 dodge engine so I can relieve them of the camshaft and lifters in numbered order for some experimentation or any info or torque specs or hp specs to match, i currently have a zz4 chevy powered boat (first airboat) and she's a strong runner and will run some dry land but ya gotta be up on the stick and the throttle to do so (as with most direct drive airboats) and that get's a bit to much for a fiberglass hull boat, gearbox and aircraft engine hulls don't have to put so much stress on the hull to do what a Mopar 360 can do so anyone that has or can find info on the dodge smallblock industrial engines please chime in....we got nascar and we got drag racing covered...let's go MOTORBOATIN and serve up some crow ;)
