Time For a rebuild
After just working to fit a radiator, electric fan, ac condenser, oil cooler, and power steering cooler, I can feel your pain regarding little space to work with!
Couple thoughts:
-Are you sure you want the turbo inlets / air filters right behind the radiator? And have you picked out an electric fan yet to see how they fit with that? I don't know much about mounting turbos- is there a 'right side up' orientation to them?
-Regarding putting something (i.e. intercooler or radiator) in front of the radiator support- there is not a lot of room up there. I modified the hood latch support to clear up space (notched in two places - a portion is now at a 45* angle, and then it cuts back straight down after that. I'll get some pics for you if you like. I've got 3-4" of depth, but only from the lower portion of the grill down (and behind the bumper). You also asked about running a radiator up there- you could potentially fit a 2" radiator across the whole area, but you would lose all room for an intercooler. If you got rid of the latch and latch support, and notched the back side of the grill support and bumper, you could probably clear up 3-4" of dept across the whole radiator opening in that area (at least on my 73 duster - you probably have less room).
