While I'm restoring my dart I like to look for some good color choices, its been dubbed "Project Satan" so everything is going to be black and red, real mean looking. I haven't found too many good colors, I guess this can be a starting point at what color im looking at, no darker than this though.

If you can include the name of the paint that you post it would be appreciated.

I'm on a quest for the right color as well. I was looking for some kind of "deep red".

Could not post the image using my iPad but you'll see a nice deep red on a dart. Looks like black hood stripes as well. I'm visualizing that lowered with a nice wheel & tire package...

No idea what the actual color is. Another color that caught my eye is "viper snakeskin green". The red is more subtle.

Looks like it's warmed up for you northerners.
Happy new year.

Edit: managed to upload it.

Here is my 67 Notch with the final color on it. We started with a close match to the original 67 red and tweaked it until I got what I wanted, custom mix. I am happy with it.

Found 2 more, looking pretty cool so far, wonder what it looks like out of the light, like under a shadow.

I always think that the most evil red is a blood red or a shade or 2 lighter, like this Nomad. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0710phr_oem_paint_colors/photo_21.html

Maybe look into a "China red" as well....some variations of the china red that I have seen in real life have a deep tone with a bright gloss/shine to it.
When I had my Demon 20+ years ago, one of my hotroddin' buddies was a paint man (one of the best in our parts), and my plan was to paint my Demon a blood red.
Your primer coat (a black/grey) will give you your depth/darkness of your red paint, but yet when it is done with a gloss will give you that deep blood red base look, with a shine of a brighter blood red.

My .02 cents.....lol

Im sold on this QQ1 red but my dad doesnt want to use a metallic or candy type color because they can be hard to color match which gets rid of most of my color choices so far.

He's right though. I've sprayed metallics. Took a lot of fuss and re-spraying to get it right. I will leave those to the pros from here on.
Likely the same for pearl although I have not looked into how that's done yet.

I would think that this QQ1 is none of the above. I may also do my Dart with it. It may go a little darker than what you see with a black primer unless this car was done that way. I would do a test panel.

Hmm... Evil, red, Mopar

This is probably the baddest red I have ever seen. Don't ask me what color it is (I'm sure its candy and flake) - the pics just don't do it justice.

I personally have always liked my reds to have a touch of orange in them, not so much pure cherry or blood red. Here's a few examples of that GM Roman Red I mentioned before.....no metallic either.....

I too am a fan of the "lifesavers" colors on the vipers.

the second from the bottom red with black stripes...or black with red stripes!
