Paint vs. Powder Coating Rallye Wheels

... P.S. - Leanna, would Love to get You to do these for me, but you might as well be 10000 miles away for shipping costs. Have a local guy (friend of mine) I know it Won't be as good as Your's but it's an option..

Whewwwwwwwww, tough crowd! :-D

I totally understand, and it's the main reason I don't do a lot of rims at my place. Four steelies, two 8x10s and two 8x16s Wheel Vintiques Gennys, cost almost $100 heavily insured one way just to Mississippi (not very far). See below for the rest, since that applies to the guy you're going to hire too.

... I sell liquid and powder coatings for a living and had one of my most talented customers powder coat another set in a gloss black urethane but they didn't turn out nearly as nice as the blue liquid coated set.

I don't know if you saw my previous comment in another thread about Wheel Vintiques' steel wheels, but the powder primer they use at the factory isn't compatible with most other powders and is several mils too thick to obtain a good ground. Ten bucks says these are probably the same reasons yours didn't turn out too well efriedrich ... ask your customer how the job really went while he was working them up for you. ;-)
