Whiplash cam. Your thoughts

No disrespect, but it looks like you got some learning to do on cams.
A solid cam uses solid lifters and adjustable rocker arms. This is how you adjust the valves. The gap between the rocker and valve is known as valve lash.
Generally, high performance engines run solid cams.

Having said that.
My choice for you would be one of these 2.
Comp XE268
Comp XE274
Both from the Extreme Energy line.
Both are hydraulic cams, and work really well.

Comp Cams,Lunati (Voodoo),Hughes,make great cams.
But what ever cam you chose you need to call them, and work with them.
You need to give them every detail you can about your car,and let them help you choose a cam. They are the experts in the field.

And what ever you do...Do not buy a cam for sound.

I read his message wrong when I first read it, and your right I do have a lot to learn. I know about adjustable rocker arms and solid cams but I haven't been paying attention to anything other then hydraulic flat tappet. I guess maybe I've always been led that changing away from that would be getting a lot more pricey
Now I know not to choose a cam for sound. I explained that earlier, but how often now a days are we actually "ripping around the streets" and racing. Even getting to use all this insane power we have...and where I live in Calgary we recently lost our race track and don't even have a strip to race. I never said at any point I was choosing a cam for SOUND I said my last built 318 I built had a lot more mild cam that performed very well, but sounded like nothing special. Yes the car went amazing for a 318!! But when I wasn't racing, who cares it sounded like a kitten. We all like a bad bass sounding car, we all love lots of power. But I'm gonna hear my car and be cruising it more then I'm gonna be racing it.
Just because you want a nasty sounding motor. Dosent mean you haven to sacrifice power. Hell, lots of my friends cars sound amazing and there fast and powerful!
Once again I am not gonna choose a cam for sound, I'm gonna choose a cam that will benefit me the most for both power and drivability, yet also make a statement when I'm idling at the light

I'm gonna check out that cam quest at comp cams
