what degree thermostat?

I'd start out with a 180* or better, that'll hold the water in the radiator long enough to cool it a 160* may let the water keep flowing and never cool down by staying open.....from experience but jmo.....Wagg's

P.s. they seem to make hp and better gas mileage around 200*

Mostly used for summer/spring/fall cruises, some parade duty. Any brand suggestions? Just the cheapy Gates brand or is there something better. Seems like I used to run a 160 degree thermostat.
