1970 5.7 Hemi Duster

-
Have you looked at a mod man intake? My buddy has one and loves it on his new challenger

I thought about it, they seem to run better at more of a higher rpm. Not idea for a street car. I like the A lot though. All you need to do is change out the top plate. At the moment I'm researching on if its possible to run power brakes, boosted or hydralic boosted with a hydraulic clutch setup.

Almost ready to drop back down to the ground!
Been sitting on jacks for the last 6 months!

I got some work done this last week.

I got the duster on the ground. Front brakes mounted and set up, minus the master. I was waiting on some brackets and retaining clips.
I got the headers mocked up.
Installed the dip stick and it seems to be hitting the pan. So I'm gonna have to drop the pan to see where's it hitting.
I had to rebuild the shifting mechanism. Wouldn't shift into reverse. Come to find out the main unit was bent, and wouldn't allow the lever to go in reverse. Shifts smoothly now.

Some progress today

Got the clutch set up, tranny mounted, starter clears.... Barely. Pretty close. Might have to ding the header. Trying to figure out brewers hydraulic actuating clutch. Also the tranny mount seems to be hitting the reverse rod...

Progress yesterday, so I would call it. Got the motor in without headers to check where the motor mounts need to be tighten. In the process I split one of the sandwich mounts in half. Tight fit for sure. Passenger side valve cover bolt will need to be trimmed. It's hitting the side. Had to notch passenger mount to fit around the oil filter mount location, I have a block off plate there. In order for the mount to sit straight, it had to be trimmed.

Had to mock it up. Looks like I might be having some clearance with the hood. The dual quad setup sits pretty high.

So I ordered some new motor mounts, but this tim I got the fatter mounts. I still had to clearance the passenger side. Now that baby is sitting in there nicely. Leveled both ways. Now I get to take it out and install the headers. Project for this weekend.I also have the clearance on the passenger side for the valve cover stud. It was hitting.

Thx ! Appreciate it.
Hydraulic clutch,I got For now, till I go to hook it up haha
Had problems with the mounting bracket. Took me a while to figure out the mounting of it, and I was missing some parts, so once I figured that out, still have to set it up the rest ( lines, Reservoir, linkage to pedal , etc. ).

Finish a couple other things, wanted the hemi look, do I thought dual quads with a hemi air cleaner would do it...
Also finished routing my oil lines, I just need to change the alternator to the jeep style 6.1 one. Get the extra clearance.
