What is a muscle car

The relevant criteria seem to be engine characteristics AND wheelbase or gvw.

Although what insurance companies rated at the time logically would have to be factored in any technically historical consideration.
This all, obviously, leaves out any newer car as the term could then mean just about anything.
It if means too much, it means nothing.
