Hey 340duster, nice update and thanks for capturing the 'Canadian Pickers' segment, pretty neat. I talked to 'Scott' from the show and he found that picking session 'very interesting', just the vast amount of auto and petromobilia there, it's amazing). So, yes, was to Dave's out there in Mission a couple years back and checked and verified that '72 340 Special out, and it is 'one' of 'em. When I got back, I put the word out and before you could say the VIN number, Abody guru Daryl loaded the trailer and headed west and now it's safely back in Alberta (Central Alberta) and is being fast tracked for a full restoration. FYI, it is a W1, 4 speed version, going to be awesome. Thanks for the post.

I am Central, Daysland to be precise. Sleepy little town but I wake it up once in awhile with my 72 Dart Swinger 340. Been to Mopars at the Mall in Red Deer many times now. Great cars and great people. Don't miss it!

MrMopar from Daysland, don't be holdin' out on us, chomping at the bit to find out more, but just to verify, you actually own and run one of these rare little 340 Specials? Post more info my good man, please...

MrMopar you need to come clean, this Blood Hound (Cliff) is on your trail and will soon be sleeping in your garage, GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS, LOL!

Sorry cliff, my Dart started out as a 318. I transplanted the 340 in it as soon as I found one. Hope I didn't give you the wrong impression. I thought I had finished my project but I keep finding new things to do to it, improving every time. Now I see that Peak Dashes has a nice dash cluster set up that would look good in it. I find my chrome is worn on the original cluster and I can't find a decent replacement. Might go for a totally new look......... Check out the web for Peak Dashes, they look nice.

Lol! That's awesome, too bad another didn't surface but make sure you keep Daysland, Stettler, Baulf and that whole area on their toes. Sounds like a sweet ride and hope to see you in Red Deer with it.

Thats awesume that it was found! I grew up in regina and even back in the mid 80's (when i was prowling the streets in my 70 340 Duster) the 71-72 340 darts were thought of as a myth. Some of the "older" guys talked about them, but never did see one. Although I look back in my old pictures from the 2nd annual Southey Mopar Meet and I have pictures of what appears to be a white 71 340 dart.

Now I cant remember my source (it might have been Dave back in 03) but there was rumors of a 340 scamp in the Quesnel area. Thoughts were that the Vin was incorrectly stamped but who knows. Didn't see it, just a rumor from back when!

Cliff, I always make it to Mopars at the Mall! Last year there were some of the nicest rides that I have ever seen. If you are looking for me, just look for the Blue 72 with blue plaid bucket seat interior. You won't see another one like it. Where is summer!!!!

I'm from Edmonton. Currently in the process of bringing a 1970 Swinger 340 back to life (all original) It's a factory 4 speed hemi orange car with black interior. It probably wont be on the road for about 2-3 years.

Just picked up my Demon yesterday im in Airdrie
