Central Alberta Members!

Hey 340duster, nice update and thanks for capturing the 'Canadian Pickers' segment, pretty neat. I talked to 'Scott' from the show and he found that picking session 'very interesting', just the vast amount of auto and petromobilia there, it's amazing). So, yes, was to Dave's out there in Mission a couple years back and checked and verified that '72 340 Special out, and it is 'one' of 'em. When I got back, I put the word out and before you could say the VIN number, Abody guru Daryl loaded the trailer and headed west and now it's safely back in Alberta (Central Alberta) and is being fast tracked for a full restoration. FYI, it is a W1, 4 speed version, going to be awesome. Thanks for the post.

Thats awesume that it was found! I grew up in regina and even back in the mid 80's (when i was prowling the streets in my 70 340 Duster) the 71-72 340 darts were thought of as a myth. Some of the "older" guys talked about them, but never did see one. Although I look back in my old pictures from the 2nd annual Southey Mopar Meet and I have pictures of what appears to be a white 71 340 dart.

Now I cant remember my source (it might have been Dave back in 03) but there was rumors of a 340 scamp in the Quesnel area. Thoughts were that the Vin was incorrectly stamped but who knows. Didn't see it, just a rumor from back when!
