Any Feedback on Comp Magnum Solid Cams?
I'm running that cam in a 10-1 Edelbrock RPM head and intake combo 360 W/a 750 Edel. carb, hooker super comps @ 1-3/4-2-1/2 exhaust in a 4spd-4.10 gear '73 Cuda.
Considering the no stall issue, it does take some extra attention to low speed driving state of tune with the 4spd. It could use more gear due to the manual trans. With that said, I like it. It is driveable in the street. Near explosive power and good high speed power up top in the RPM range.
I did like the dual plane dualquad set up a bit better though. Here my buddy Mike doing a quick set up after initial break in.

Mad torque. Less throttle pressure and more carb opening between the two carbs.
Over all, this cam needs some gears to over come the lack of low speed torque which is a given known considering the cam size and intended RPM range. Overall, not to bad. I can live with it easy enough.
I have not had it to the track yet. It does feel a little better than a Purple 292/.509 cam I had in there last. I believe this combo to be good for low 12's to high 11's. a weight reduction would really help as well as more gear. The car is a full interior. (AKA-full weight @ 3600+ or so lbs.) No A/C.
The only thing more to add is this single pattern cam could use a set of heads with good balance between the intake and exhaust flow. I do not know how the W2 heads flow stock or what condition your heads are in.
If anybody else out there reading this is considering this cam, stock iron heads should be well prep'd and bowl ported for use with this cam. Overall lift with lash will be on ethier side of and about .500.
(The result of lash plus pushrod angle loss.)
My next test and see combo will be a LD340 and 850 TQ.
Why? Just because.
