duralast ball joints vs moog

A question, if XRF no longer had the single lower ball joint that he had to get out of Garland Texas what good is a million mile warranty if they is nothing to replace it?

XRF doesnt sell to auto parts chains like autozone, only mechanic shops, and parts warehouses that sell to service garages, XRF doesnt sell directly to the public either, you have to get their parts thru the parts warehouses that purchase them for sale to service garages. This is why when mibearings didnt have the one lower in stock i contacted mark at XRF to find another parts warehouse near me who might the other ball joint in stock. I got lucky to find mibearings parts distributer online and they had almost all the parts except 1 thing.

This part is on backorder from XRF, nothing was said about obsoleting it. I imagine once more people know about these parts there may be a run on them. I got mine. And put the info out there for anybody else wanting XRF parts. Gonna order the pieces i need for my daytona shelby next

Thank you for clearing up the fact they are on back order. From reading what you had originaly posted it wasn't clear what was going on since you were talking directly to Mark at XRF. I hope you have found a great product because it looks like China Moog may now be junk.

Thank you. I will post some pix when i get them. Im going by all the web forum talk about them being good and lasting a long time.

Cool, glad to see they are working out for you. If i ever have to buy moog im gonna look for the made in USA label. What r u gonna do with the chinese ones? Do u have reciept? Try to get ur money back, or see if they can swap em for an older made in USA set.

Cant wait to see ur dart when its done.

I'm not gonna send the china ones back or re sell them to someone... Who knows what's in that casting probably old rims and swing sets... Just gonna keep them as a reminder of quality. Over on yellowbullet there is a thread about how the Chinese have copied morel lifters also...

I got my parts from XRF yesterday. I opened the boxes to look them over and make sure they were the correct parts. Everything looks correct. They came with a brochure on the quality of their parts as compared to other companies parts. I know some folks on this thread are going to say hogwash to it. But when i get a chance to scan it i will post it to this thread. From what the diesel truck forums are saying, XRF is the way to go. The reciept from mibearings.com said XRF USA on it, nowhere on it did it say mibearings.com it also included the brochureon the company. I can probably assume correctly that i bought them directly from XRF there and not a parts warehouse. As the one i got out of Garland Tx was double the price, probably the markup for them to make a bit of money.

The tie rod ends and lower ball joints do not have a grey raw forged steel look to them. Rather they have a black coating on them over the steel. Probably for lessening surface rust.

Regarding the Made in USA versus the Made in China Moog parts, do the parts have USA or China on the part itself or just on the box?

After following this post I went and looked at some Moog balljoints I bought recently, it says made in USA on the box but not on the part.

I also recently bought some Moog/Precision u-joints that say USA on the part and made in USA on the part.

Just wondering how you're identifying the source of the parts.

I haven't seen any stamped USA on the part. It has been only on the boxes. I don't recall the early style boxes even having USA on the box but they also have no UPC bar code.

Not to spark any controversy, but a buddy of mine.not to long ago put duralast tierods on his pickup, he still had the boxes , we dug em out of his shop trash can. The boxes said made in usa. Im not using them, I bought the XRF brand for my rideride, this is what i saw. Does that mean the us made duralast is junk too? Just saying. Well maybe they were saying the box was made in USA
