torque converter question.
a good converter will make a huge difference. i think i would drop to a 26" tire too.. my dart would go 1.63 sixty foot times with a 3.91 gear and 26" tire. the 284 mp cam will want at least 3000 stall and at minimum 3.91 gear.
personally what i would do is call a good converter company dynamic,ultimate ot ptc and get them to build one to your combo and intended use.
i had dynamic do one for my dart. it was a 9.5" that flashed to 3800 rpm but was totally streetable. actually felt like a stock converter on the street. could easily sit at the starting line and get 3000rpm out of it just on the foot brake
i let a friend drive the car after i changed the converter, he came back white as a ghost and said what the hell did you do to that thing? he couldn't believe that all i did was change the converter. it made a huge difference..
even with stock 100,000 mile slant six springs and air shocks and old worn out front suspension it would go 1.69 sixty foot times.. :)
