Right. I've seen retainer prices sorta high, but I think havin a ring made at a machine shop would be more. So it never made sense to me.

If a ring was made it would still have to be secured so it wouldn't fall inside the bellhousing so that would require some additional work too. I am not a fan of machining something to make it work when a quality bolt on part is available.
