Upper end noise

changed the oil and put Vr1 20-50 in it. pressure is great now even after an 8 mile hot lap. pulled the covers and noticed that when my 17yr old dumbass built it 6 yrs ago that i had the rockers all wrong. the rattle noise i heard was coming from no.8 cyl and the rockers were touching alittle. so i looked it (luckily i carry a 1976 mitchell book on me at all times) and i put them back in in the correct order. and the shafts are in right. luckily they were right when i put them in years ago. but now it has a tick-like noise. you can only hear it when you have your head right next to the valve cover. the sound comes from both sides across all the rockers. the other rattle is gone. im thinking that all those miles with the rockers in the incorrect order that they now have a wear pattern andsince they are switched around now that that must be causing the slight noise. car runs great and has good pressure now. tomorrow im going to look into a new stock rocker/shaft setup. they seem kindof worn and have alittle play on the shaft. everything else looks like its getting well lubed and pushrods look good too. any thoughts?
thanks
