I'd say it depends on your wheel selection, if they are painted or not. I think with polished aluminum wheels adding chrome to bumpers looks great. But if the wheels are painted, anodized, powder coated in matte black or whatever then bling bling bumpers on each end look out of place / or the wheels look out of place,,,,either or.

Although if you have a very deepdish wheel and the lip is polished but centers are painted then chrome or no chrome on bumpers look good.

My $.02 and its worth every penny :D

I couldn't agree more with your way of thinking. I'm thinking of painting the centers of my wheels to give it a more subdued look. Here are a couple cars at mecum that I thought were badass looking. The bottom two pics are my wheels in there current all shiny and polished out look.
