E-brake over or under exhaust?

Above, there's no way you'll get them below the exhaust and still have them work right.

Keep in mind with the brake set the cables get tighter. Mine pull right up tight against the floor when the brake is set. If they rub a little on the exhaust when the brake is released its not a big deal, they shouldn't be under that much tension when released.
