What are you listening to ?
Saw Heart with Jason Bonham's "Led Zeppelin Experience" last night.
ROCKED!
Bonham's guys did a good job, and their "Interweb" find singer had a lot of the vocal inflection of Plant. JPJ and Page are two very large sets of shoes to fill, but they were passable.
Barracuda was a bit too slow, but they got better real fast.
I don't really care for the "softer, gentler" versions of Alone and What About Love, as I think, even though Ann has the ability to make them vocal showcases, they just work better with the punch of the hard rock they were written with.
Nice, heavy funky versions of Heartless, and Little Queen!
I don't know whether to give their guitarist a "B" because he got most of it right and seemed to capture the feel, or a C-, because he sometimes didn't seem like he cared.
I know the focus is mostly on the ladies, but some of us do know the Roger Fisher and Howard Leese parts note for note!
A little "less classical" Crazy on You intro with a bit of Zep snuck in...
"Battle of Evermore"" with just Ann/Nancy ROCKED.
"Oh, it's gonna be like this..."
Then both guitarists, both Bassists and Jason and Ann and Nancy-
(...and Heart's keyboard chick who worked a LOT and was very good on both Heart and Zep material)
Highlights were Kashmir and Stairway.
Also enjoyed Nobody's Fault but Mine and The Ocean.
