Does a 73 Duster have a brake return spring

So kinda random probably stupid question but I have rebuilt my whole duster brake system (master cylinders, wheel cylinders, new drum springs and shoes and new pads, NO NEW calipers YET) and I finally bled all the air out of the system to the point where it brakes good now, pedal is firm. However the brake pedal itself wont return very well and at stoplights the brakes drag for a few seconds or until i lift up the pedal with my foot. I also noticed when backing up and using the brakes the problem is worse.

I looked under the dash thinking there is just a spring from the pedal to the dash or something for return but found nothing, not even a hole in the pedal arm for a spring. Am I missing something? could it be faulty rear drums? (Completely rebuild as much as they can be all springs and such) or could the front calipers be a little rusty and not wanting to release since that is the only pice I haven't replaced.

Thanks in advance for the replies
