tired of every thing getting smaller

It's greed. All I can come up with, if it was simply to cover the rising prices then raise the price... wait they did but also reduced the product.

Greed MIGHT have something to do wit it, but it goes far beyond just greed.
Ever wage and price increase has a ripple affect.

People complain about wages, and get an increase. After so many wafe increases, profits for the company are diminished, so the price of their product or service goes up.

Look at the increase in the cost of vehicles since the 1970's.
In fact I have an excellent example:
In 1976 I purchased a new Dodge B200 Tradesman Van.
That van was $5200.00
I also prices a B200 Sportsman and it was $6600.00 in 1976.

In 1986 I purchased a B150 Sportsman it's a 1/2 ton vehicle with a 109"WB. Many of the same options,It was $16,740.00.

More than three times the price of the 3/4 and 18" shorter, tradesman with a lessor drive train. And $10,000 more that a similarly equipped, but longer and heavier duty Sportsman just 10 years earlier.

Why? A number of things, including wage increases, insurance increases, benefits increases, tax increases, new taxes, refitting costs, the cost of steel, the cost of rubber, foam rubber, fabrics, leather, paint, glass, transportation, handling equipment, and so on and so one.

There are two ways for the company to keep up. Raise prices, or offer less.
