i'd fix the brakes and get another slant in there just to get it going again then start saving for your v-8 swap either small or big. those slants are pretty tuff along with there drivetrains. and cheap to repair also gas station friendly. I think this way you can enjoy it and be able to get all of your drivetrain pieces in advance
