Going to automatic means changing the shift linkage regardless so... auto on column or on floor means additional parts required. Lets not forget the auto trans cooling. doesn't mean you need a radiator though. There's lots of ways to go from manual to automatic.
How I got rid of the last manual trans I owned was trading vehicles. LOL
