They are made for appearance replacement not for use in a everyday driver. They are made of plastic. so they need to be thicker. Get in and yank on one of the repops and see what happens.

that's what i'm afraid of ! there is no metal frame in the new ones, just thick rubber/foam ... oh well, we'll see how they hold up I guess ...
