A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

Tears might be appropriate.....

Love that last pic with Jim's Hemi Demon and Your (former)
Hemi Duster together!

What was wrong/changed with the Cuda's hard starting?

Okay, you asked...................... I wanted it to start better when hot. I also wanted to get the most horsepower I could get so I took it to a dyno tuner. He was extremely efficient and tried to tune the Barracuda the best he could. The engine fell flat on its face at 5400 RPM. Put in timing, take out timing, put in fuel, take out fuel....nothing worked. I started the car this morning and sitting still couldn't get the RPM's over 5400 RPM. A friend of mine, Jim called because he talked to my other buddy Scott who told him about the issue. He said he had to run to the bank and then he would stop over. In the mean time my buddy Don stopped in to check out the car. He was with me at the dyno place also......in fact, I had to leave to take my oldest son to the airport so I left the Barracuda in good hands with Don. Jim started to setting the valves and said lets change the oil and filter and put the valve covers back on and run it. Jim finished, Don and Jim left and I finished up the valve covers and spark plugs and fired it up. I took it out on the street and hammered it....... I took it to 6000 and ten shifted.. crazy. Jim called and asked about the car and I told him about the 6000 shift. He said bring it to the car show tonight and on the way home jump on the highway and leave it in 2nd gear and try to get it over 6K I shifted at 6500 RPM with no troubles...... just crazy.
