I am putting on a milodon oil pump on my 400, can I reuse or do i need to use a spring in my new pump. Just what does the spring do since there is no diaphram.

.................any pump i've seen comes with the spring installed already.......spring controls how much pressure the pump can build.........kim......

So I guess using the old spring would not be a good idea on a modified stroker. I will have to contact milodon and ask about the missing spring or if that is something I need to buy according to what pressure i want.

High pressure springs in oil pumps are more often used in high rpm scream/drag race machines. In a stock to high performance builds, there is no need for this power robbing addition.

Well I talked to milodon and they have an adjustable regulator that threads into where the spring goes and it comes with a new spring so I think that is the route I will take. Doing so i will be able to adjust to what ever pressure i want. Thanks All

I have a new MP spring still in its original package, pm me if interested.

Thanks for the offer but i want to try the adjustable one first. Reaching it as Bob stated might not be to much of a problem because my inner fender wells are custom made, flat and removeable BUT i haven't got the motor back into my 63 valiant yet--soon as I get my lower pully back from the powder coater I hope to.
