fabricated valve covers

From what I've seen there is not much difference between $125 set and $250 set. It depends a bit on what look (finish) you want. Polished are more than natural - anodized more still. Look for weld and finish quality obviously. The biggest drawback I've seen with these covers is that the base is flat and does not "wrap or contain" the gaskets. A bit too much pressure and they'll pop out real easy. Given they are all flat based make sure the base is 1/4" thick - and flat. Regardless the dollar paid I would spend some time to make sure the bases are flat and level before putting them on. The other drawback I've seen is they all come with just two grommet holes. If you don't mind removing a breather or PCV valve to add oil no biggie but I welded a bung in mine for a screw in filler cap. Kind of hard to see in this pic but its at the front of the right side cover.

The other issue I ran into is clearance for the distributor (MSD in my case). I had to clearance the base on the left side cover a bit.
