Finally got paint

Looks great! I`ve painted in some pretty sketchy shops and garages and they still came out looking good.

Very nice Mark! I really like the car in that color too.

No need for me to comment on the process, there a pros & cons to all jobs from the backyard to the 20+ thou job. It came out well, that's what counts.

I will say, the first few times i had color sprayed on a car, I couldn't sleep or work being so worried about getting all the trim and things back on it...lol. Very exciting.

How's your timeline? Do you think you'll get her done before the weather breaks?

Wow! It really turned out awesome!

Give you alot of credit for all the hard work to get it to this stage.

Color looks great!

Looking forward to the next part of the journey...

are you going to paint the front of the core support flat black? thats how the factory did them and it really does look better.

Just had to say that the car is looking GREAT Mark . I bet you can't wait for the first time you take her out for a spin and show her off a little .

It's hard to say from the pics, but I think it looks great!! Are you happy with the results?
who gives a sh-t what the people look like to a critic, we seem to have plenty of those on here, what does matter is if your happy w/ it. I think it`s going to look kick a$$--------------bob:wack:

First off I hope your project turn out nice, as far as the people doing the work they look to be about as unprofessional as I've ever seen. The paint booth and everything and everyone in it need to be treated like a surgical sweet as far as cleanliness and dust and dirt control, these clowns are painting in their street cloths with thier hairy body's and thier lint etc. covered clothing distributing crap into the paint. Color sanding and polishing after its done can erase a lot of sloppy workmanship but try and remove a hair or some other highly visible piece of junk that fell in on the first coat of clear without burning thru to the color coat, good luck. They couldn't even put some wheel covers over the dusty wheels and tires, these are not pros these are barely amateurs. When you see test patterns on the walls of the paint booth it's a bad sign. None of this is your fault of corse and unless you've seen real pros at work you would have no way to know and many car guys are paying good money and waiting a long time for the work and deserve better. That said I hope they got lucky because I love those old Fish!
are you serious! Why not just tell the guy to go to chip foose and let him paint the car! Most of us who have cars like this don't have the money for the 10,15, $20,000 paint jobs I have also seen people paint cars out in the backyard and they came out the be showpieces. at least these guys had a paint booth. they can bring graffiti artist in and paint the lyrics from barracuda on the side of the wall it would not matter to me! Most people do not even have pictures or video of their cars being done. Mark you did the right thing by video taping this or whoever did it for you. this is a keepsake most people would die for! From what I see in the video and the pictures I think if it was a great job! Mark if you're happy and it looks good more power to you!! remember to get the car on the street and start showing and the amount of trophies you pull in will tell you how the paint job turned out! I hope one day I come by and see your car and look for a hair from the guys arm that dropped in to the clear? And remember if you get any motor work done this gentleman here would probably like them to wear gloves and be suspended in the air so they don't go near the paint? haha what a joke but everybody has their opinion!!! and you know what they say about opinions, opinions are like a$$holes everybody has one!!anyway great job I love the color I love that body style it looks like it's going to be a real showpiece. big daddy out

I think the car looks great and it is the best color for a Barracuda.

As for the other stuff.... It just comes down to professionalism and pride in your work. Shoot suits are not expensive (mine was $25) and they last a long time.

Keeping the hose off the floor (not the entire hose, but the first several feet) doesn't cost anything. The painter dropped the hose on the ground after he unplugged the gun.

The stuff Swinger340Canuc mentioned doesn't add to the cost of a repaint.

I hear what you're saying and there's a lot that I would agree with, but it seems like Mark was just trying to show a video of his car being done and the idea behind this is what a beautiful car this is turning out to be. And then because the other member is a body man himself he wants to dog the people that Mark decided to use. I myself have painted both outside, and in spray booths. sometimes I wear the suits, sometimes I don't. Mark it your job to look at the finished product if you do see any imperfections let them know before you take the car. Good luck with everything and I can't wait to see the finished product! Big daddy out

I want to apologize to dartcuda1 for injecting what many consider a negative criticism of his project. My venting on the people doing his paint job comes from 30 years of trying to impart an attitude of professionalism into a trade that is still looked down upon and is having a massive problem attracting young people because it often appears to be a dirty grimy way to make a living. My point, though not gracefully communicated, was these attitudes and practises don't cost barely anything in the way of monetary costs to our customers and friends but do advance the perception that this is Craft and these are Professional Craftsmen and Craftswomen and this is a very respectable trade. I do apologize to dartcuda1 and fellow members it was not my intention to spoil his project posting and I'm sure it will turn out great.
