Hi guys, I have been slaving away on the Dart all Winter, Spring and Summer. I gave it to the owner 2 days before the Mopar Nationals at Woodburn Dragstrip out here in Oregon. He waxed it on Saturday and took it out and took 2nd place in A-Body Modified. I got it back for a week and a half, then we had a parade in my home town Sat. morning, and a Mike's Drive Inn car show in his home town that afternoon, and he won 1st place in 67, 68 and 69 (which is a tough class). We took it back to my home town in Gladstone for the 1st Annual car show and he took a 1st place plaque home the next day on Sunday.
Working on a short list of clean-up items now, and still struggling with the wiper switch and wiper motor wiring. Here is the owner Woody "Fuzz" Rasmussen with his 1st plaque and '69 SRT8 in Gladstone, Oregon. I have over 1200 pics, but they are too large, so I need to compress first.
Note: An update on the Hydro-Boost we used, it turned out to be out of a 1995 Chevy Astro van, not an '85 as I first thought, beings I just had to replace it, I now have the AC Delco part number. The junk yard version was working about 90% of the time, and was supposed to be just for fitting up anyway.

That's a nice car. Well done.

I look forward to seeing some of your build pics.

Very nice!

I am working on a 70 Challenger (customer car) that is becoming a SRT-8 as well. it's getting a 6.1 from a wrecked srt8 Charger, front buckets from a 2009 Challenger with a driver side power seat, TKO-600 5-speed, billet March pulley setup, 4 wheel disc brakes, air ride suspension, frame connectors, torque boxes, upper fender bracing, lower radiator support bracing, Shaker Hood, power windows, Vintage Air, custom dash, and a modern wiring system from American Autowire. And a custom 2-tone paint job with House Of Kolor Violette Pearl on the bottom and HOK Black Pearl on the top.

And, get this, he plans to show it occasionally but drive it everyday!

I hope his first showings with the car are as successful as yours! Great work!

OK - I will start a thread as soon as i get a free minute. Trying to "problem solve" the accelerator pedal install right now. He's going with factory drive by wire and now i have to figure out how to install the necessary pedal assembly from a 2007 Charger SRT. It doesn't bolt right in so I might have to fabricate a bracket for it...

Gary, that is very close to all the stuff I put in this, except the 545RFE 5 speed auto tranny. You won't believe how I ended up mounting our accelerator pedal. It wanted to be mounted right on top of the corner of the steering column trim ring, so I welded a nut to the corner and bolted it right to that nut welded to the trim ring, and the other nut I welded to the floor board. If I can locate the picture, I will post it.

ey, you copied my car! Even the SRT badge is were I put mine 2 years ago.... :) good work! except mine is a 72, 5 speed from a Toyota and carbed.

ok, yours is much more cleaner made. I'm more the redneck at a barn..... hahahaha

Nice work!

Thanks to all for your kind words, it really does help, it was a whole lot of work and almost 3 years of my spare time. Here are some pics I found time to compress.

Very nice! I look forward to seeing post about you build. Sometime I hope to put a new hemi into my 68 barracuda but the 70 dart must be completed first.

Your car is very nice, good work!

Sweet ride hope you got a fat wallet for all the work you did for the owner.

Thxs guys, yes the owner took care of me. Its hard to find an owner that doesn't run out of funds halfway thru a project like this.

The headlights are called SICK (name brand) and a guy makes them one at a time in the state of Washington, I believe. $415 a piece, very spendy!!! To rich for my wallet.
