Looking for advice on a starting point on tuning.

FBO sells 14* MSD bushings. Problem I have is my engine kicks back with anything over 18 initial.

So set the initial at 18* and put a set of really light springs in it. you can have your lower initial for start up and have it come in sooner.

My car cleans up fine with 17 initial and 35 total. My next combo im gonna run a solid roller and I will go further with dialing it in. I have a digital 6 box and it has a start retard feature built in so if Im ever not lazy I could utilize it. The best way to find your engines happy spot is using a vacuum gauge and advance it for highest vacuum.

FBO? I'm ordering the 10* bushing off ebay and I'd like to order 14* also. Is there a link for FBO? How about someone who offers a kit with bushings ranging from 10* to 16*. I should have posted this whole thing BEFORE I spent my money on a non-programmable box. I'm getting tempted to buy a programmable box at this point.

I bet this is why MSD doesnt sell all these bushings. they want you to spend another 400 bucks on there fancy ignition box.

If spending $40 for bushings when you can spend $20ish, have at it.

There is no kit for a selection from 10-12-14-16 . MSD sells an advance kit, but, it's limited to the same crappy choices you get with a new distributor. 18* is the least amount of advance that you can get.

We've been building them to +-.0005 tolerance for over 10 years, we sell them as a kit 1-10* and 1-14* bushing with instructions. As well as several other Mopar Ignition tuning components all backed by over 95 Years of combined Ignition and Carburetion experience, a free Live Chat system and a website since 1995.

Are we as cheap as the Ebay Peddler that plagerized our hard work? Nope and won't ever be but, we'll be here to help you if you have issues.

We have a way to make these types of motors run properly but nobody here has even suggested it.

So everytime you type ebay in a message it creates a link, I'd like to know how much it costs to do that. ebay ebay ebay ebay... America's open fencing outlet

Do you have a track you can test and tune? Always set timing first then mess with carb. Write down everything you mess with when touching carb and timing. Tune for fastest MPH, go up two jet sizes every time until MPH slows down then go back down two.
