72 metal dash frame fit in 71 ?

-
the dash frame metal will physically bolt up but the clusters between 71 and 72 are very different ( 71 is full sweep and 72 is rectangular) and wiring will have a few variances and some dashes in either year had the optional wood grain panels, some did not.

72 is a one year only heater bezel in dart swinger and will not interchange with 73+ or 71 -

They are not all the "SAME" ....but will bolt up

get ahold of FABO member Cudajunction and get some new vin rivets and pop your tag on the dash frame going in.

I did that with my dart when I did the rally dash swap over :D the vin rivets work in any rivet popper thinger

A lot of people are hum hum about the whole rivet replacing thing, in some states owning replacement Vin rivets is illegal, as well as tampering and or removing a vin tag is illegal in some states.

Just make sure you lock your door and turn your lights off and unplug all of your phones when you do it. ;)

It's those pesky drones I'm worried about LOL

then im in trouble because I did it in my build thread for the whole world to see :D

I was actually told by a local officer to take pics and document it, that way if something ever comes up you can show that you have nothing to hide and any judge can see with the pics that it was done in the name of restoration and recycling and I have all parts receipts and the body numbers all over the car match so I was not worried :-?

That's good it just differs state by state.

I put a '72 Dash frame (with no wood grain) with all aftermarket gauges and gauge cluster into my '71 ..
