Anyone here work at Altec Industries? Altec are the major producer of bucket trucks for the utility and telecom industry. Just wondering if there were any fellow employees on here.

I'm not a fellow employee, but I was an end user for years....as a lineman for a power company. I was on our vehicle standards team for a few years, and never ceased to be amazed at how nice all of the people I met at Altec were, and how interested they were in what I thought about their quality of work. Altec rocks!! Thank you for what you guys and gals do! :prayer:

I don't work at Altec , but I build truck beds for them at Knapheide Manufacturing in Quincy , Illinois .

Thanks guys. I appreciate the positive compliments.

Hey JDMOPAR, how far are you from Creedmoor, NC. I work at the E-Town, Ky facility, but I will be visiting Creedmoor very soon.

I used ALTEC trucks when I was in the Army. The last few years before I retired I was in a signal company and we hung a lot wire with them.

Barry....I live about 4 1/2 hrs. from Creedmoor, and have been there many times. I came to E town once, and have been to Birmingham and the one near Kansas City. I do live about 30 minutes from the Altec body plant in Burnsville, NC if you ever get over there. I need to call my friend Stephen Cutler, and ask him what I need to do to maybe be a delivery driver for y'all. I've about had a belly full of where I work, since the merger. I am old enough to retire, and have thought a lot about what I might like to do that I would enjoy. I think taking people their long awaited, brand new shiny bucket truck or digger derrick would be fun. :D

I don't work for Altec but I sell to them at mutpile locations. I also sell to Knaphiede in Quincy, IL and West Quincy/Taylor,MO and Reading Bodies in PA and AutoCrane and ETI and more.

We also use them for work (Telephone co). There is a Altec In St.Joseph Mo.

I have a Altec boom truck I use for my tree service. I'm having a problem with the top boom not wanting raise until the bottom boom is at 45* deg. I don't think the pressure is set correct for the top boom. going to call them tomorrow on it. other than that great truck. wes
