seized 198

I got a 198 that apparently threw a rod that went thru the block. The 5 rods are presumably good, but they are stuck in the cylinders connected to the pistons. Any easy way of getting them out and is it worth saving 5 connectiong rods when everybody needs six? Since the block is broken, can I break it apart with a sledge, or is that more work then trying to pound out the pistons?
