There were certainly many mistakes made that day and in the future by the US military, and poor communications between the state dept, govt, and military "back home."
You have to wonder, with Hitler's preachings, why he ever allied himself with such a "non superior" non caucasian race. Maybe he wanted to create " a side show" to keep others in the world busy while he overtook Europe.
Can you imagine if Stalin and Hitler would have remained allies?
