360 / 727 pulled & put in shop. what next?
This is obviously from a novice speaking here...
I have a complete long block and transmission sitting on the floor of my garage. I put it in there with an excavator... The engine will go in my Dart to replace the tired 318. The transmission will probably go up for sale here later.
The question is: What is the best way to separate the engine / tranny? I dont want to damage anything, like the output shaft or TC or any mating surfaces. Is there a trick to this?
My thought was to shim and block up the entire chunk so that when the bolts are pulled, the tranny will be able to be pulled away from the engine. sounds pretty simple, but that blasted thing is heavy! Go for it? Any advise is appreciated!:prayer:
