360 / 727 pulled & put in shop. what next?

I just use old tires, and "hang" the engine with most of the weight on the tires as a safety, allowing some working room. Best to pull starter and dust cover off the trans before you pull it.

With the dust cover off, you can get to at least one bolt at a time up beside the oil pan with a socket / extension, and rotate the engine with a socket to get to the other three

Use a scrap of sheet metal, bend into a tab, or wire, etc, to retain the converter so it doesn't fall out of the trans.

Then, just a matter of removing all bell bolts and pulling it off.

The idea is to leave the converter in the bell so the front pump components, bushing, seal, etc, are not damaged.
